The Ultimate Wakesurfer's Trip to Turks and Caicos | Travel Guide

What better place to test out and photograph our new 2021 products than the beautiful islands of Turks and Caicos? We were lucky enough to partner with our friends at Wake to Wake Watersports to put our MISSION gear to the test on that iconic turquoise water. We can’t wait to show you everything – stay tuned for more!

Where to stay We rented the most amazing beachfront Villa from @TKCAvacationrentals. The property managers were extremely accommodating with everything we needed, the house worked great for a large group, and you can’t beat the location! From the moment we got there, we didn’t want (or need) to leave the house! It’s an easy paddle-board or kayak across the channel to the mangroves where you can see hundreds of seas turtles, fish, and reef sharks. The house is situated in the mouth of the channel so that you’re protected from wind no matter what direction it is coming out of. We were able to wade in the ocean like a giant bathtub when a celebrity guest and his entourage staying right around the corner couldn’t! Click HERE to see a tour of our villa.

Where to eat – You have to check out Cocovan and Mr. Groupers! Cocovan gives you all the island vibes. Find a picnic table under a canopy of palm trees and order a pitcher of one of their signature drinks. When you’re ready to eat, step up to the counter of the 1970s airstream turned kitchen for some tacos or their house-made smash burger. If you’re looking for a truly authentic experience, Mr. Groupers was hands-down the most recommended by the Islanders. While the dine-in experience is awesome at both restaurants, one of the perks of renting a house is having access to a full kitchen. Mr. Groupers will come to your villa and cater a meal for your group and we all agreed, that meal was one of the highlights of our trip! Philip and his team were so fun, professional, and accommodating to our various dietary restrictions. Their coconut crusted grouper was one of best meals we’ve ever had! We ended up getting takeout from there our last night because the meal they had prepared earlier in the week was so memorable.

What to do – You’d be crazy to go to Turks and Caicos and NOT book a day on the water with @waketowaketc! These guys know how to show you the best the islands have to offer. Wakesurfing, wakeboarding, foiling, snorkeling, subwinging, and if you’re lucky – dolphins/Jojo. They can give you an experience that no one else on the Island can. One day they brought us to a shipwreck that we could explore and jump off of. Would you jump??

Staying safe – From the moment we landed, we were incredibly impressed with the measures the entire country has taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. A negative PCR test result was required within five days of entering the country. You also had to submit a travel authorization form and be pre-approved to enter. Upon arrival, everyone’s paperwork was diligently checked, temperatures were taken, and mask requirements were strict. We decided to stay at a vacation rental to limit exposure to others. All property management staff that entered the villa wore masks and maintained a 6-foot social distance from our group. Our group also took extra precaution by quarantining before and after our stay. We felt extremely safe traveling to and from the island as well as going to public spaces during our stay (the grocery store, restaurants, etc.)
